GRAD BONFIRE – Tonight – Wednesday, October 14
Our first fall grad event will be a relaxed evening around the fire! The weather looks clear and a little chilly, but the fire will keep us warm!!
Wen: Wednesday, October 14, 7:30 – 10:00 p.m.
Where: Northeast Christian College, 128 River Street – back parking lot
Cost: FREE
We’ll have music, snacks, and a bonfire – mostly just a chance for the grads to hang out together and enjoy a fall evening.
A few things to know:
- Snacks will be provided.
- Bring a camp chair or blanket.
- Dress warm! We’re going for chill vibes, but the weather may take that literally.
- Parking is available out front but is limited, so carpooling is encouraged.
- Drop-off and pickup are also great options.

BOTTLE DRIVE – Saturday, October 24
We’ll be hitting the streets for our first Safe Grad Bottle Drive of the year!
When: Saturday, October 24, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Meeting Place: LHHS front parking lot
Area: Crocket Street area
Grad volunteers will meet at LHHS at 9:00 a.m., head out to canvass the Crocket Street area collecting refundable bottles and cans, and return to the school by 12:00 p.m. We will have maps, bags, flyers, and everything else; just bring yourselves!
Volunteers can sign up for whichever shift works best:
- Full shift: 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
- Early shift: 9:00–10:30 a.m.
- Late shift: 10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Many hands make light work! The more grads we have out helping, the more ground we can cover, and the more money we can raise for Safe Grad!
Volunteer sign-up sheets are located outside of Mr. Gallant’s room (D-112U) on the Safe Grad bulletin board.

SAFE GRAD CASINO NIGHT – Wednesday, November 25
Casino Night is back!
When: Wednesday, November 25, 7:00 – 9:30 p.m.
Where: LHHS Cafeteria (enter via the GYM DOORS)
Cost: $10 per ticket
We’ll have a variety of free-to-play casino games, including poker, blackjack, roulette, craps and more. There will also be free snacks and plenty of prize giveaways throughout the evening.
There is no official dress code. Grads are welcome to dress up, dress down, or have some fun with it. Over the years we’ve seen everything from people dressed to the nines to velour sweatsuits, NASCAR jackets and 10-gallon hats, Miami Vice pastels, and casual PokerStars loungewear. Do what you like – the point is to come out and have fun.
Ticket information will be shared soon through our Facebook page, Instagram account and emails home like this one.
We will also need some help from our Grad families to make the night happen. We’ll be looking for:
- Snack donations
- Prize donations
- Parents/guardians to help with setup and cleanup

Y’S MEN SAFE GRAD FUNDRAISING BREAKFAST – Saturday, December 12
We’ll once again be partnering with the Nashwaaksis Y Service Club for their fundraising breakfast in support of Safe Grad.
This year’s breakfast is, once again, being held at Willie O’Ree Place, with pancakes, bacon, sausage, home fries, eggs, toast, juice, and coffee on the menu. It is a great way for families to enjoy breakfast together while raising money for Safe Grad at the same time.
When: Saturday, December 12, 8:00am – 10:30am
Where: Willie O’Ree Place, 605 Cliffe Street
Cost: $12 per adult, $8 per child aged 12 and younger (Cash and Card accepted!)
We will also be looking for grad and parent volunteers to help with things like serving, bussing tables, and dishwashing. A volunteer sign-up will be sent out closer to the event.
The more people we can bring through the doors, the more support this fundraiser generates for Safe Grad, so please plan to bring family and friends! If you can’t go, it is really helpful to spread the word by sharing our Facebook post!

There is lots more to come throughout the year. Safe Grad is a long-standing Leo Hayes tradition, and events like these are a big part of building some excitement and giving the Class of 2027 opportunities to spend time together before graduation.
