A recent notice from the Medical Officer of Health for New Brunswick highlighted a rise in pertussis (whooping cough) cases in the province.  The notice included guidance on who should get vaccinated and where to obtain the vaccine.  As part of Public Health’s mandate, all Grade 7 students are offered a booster dose of the Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough) vaccine.  We understand that some students who were in Grade 7 in previous years may have missed their vaccination.  To address this, Horizon Health Public health will be offering a catch-up vaccination for those students who did not receive the Tdap vaccine during their Grade 7 year.

Public Health will offer this catch-up for students during a community clinic on October the 9th.  We are asking for your assistance in distributing the attached letter addressed to parents/guardians to all students along with the pamphlet explaining the Tdap immunization.
